Mid-‘70s, Dave Edmunds found himself playing a prominent role among the back-to-basics crowd of the UK pub rock scene, producing such pub rock pioneers as Ducks Deluxe and Brinsley Schwarz, and founding Rockpile alongside Nick Lowe. Before he became associated with the pub rock movement, he had been in a late-‘60s blues rock band called Love Sculpture and scored a lone solo hit in 1970 with “I Hear You Knocking.”

His late ‘70s albums are classics of the pub rock genre. His style was always more influenced by ‘50s rock and roll and rockabilly than that of his peers, and he would veer even more in that direction for his ‘80s work.

Here is a CD-length blend of classic ‘70s Dave Edmunds. (Like the Nick Lowe solo work of the same period, much of this is effectively Rockpile music, solo in name only.)

Good stuff here. Enjoy.
