Founded in Hamburg, Germany, the avant-garde band Faust pioneered their own special brand of experimental, psychedelic weirdness, improvised noise, tape manipulations, and sound collage.

Here’s a fine sampler. I assume “Krautrock”—a nearly 12-minute rhythmic drone—is a parody, but the track ends up being a terrific introduction to the genre.
